Today while scrolling downloaded extra widgets, I was interested in one and clicked on it to learn more. What I got was a glass of wine next to the cursor (which it did not drink) and a tag on the bottom panel saying 'winebrowser' and the icon for loading. Whatever winebrowser is (I have wine installed but only use to run one Windows program--Space Engine 0.98) it never loads and the wineglass won't go away. This also happens when I click on the YouTube link for videos received on Whatsdesk--but not on the video image itself. It only goes away when I reboot the computer. I'm running Kubuntu 20.10, but it also did the same thing on Whatsdesk for 20.04. Any idea what is going on?

No idea, as winebrowser is there to send browser requests from programs run in WIne to the native Linux browser
I have no idea what Whatsdesk is, but it certainly has no connection to winebrowser unless it is running in Wine. Which it isn't.
You'll have to look at whatsdesk for help on that issue.Comment

Whatsdesk is a desktop application for running Whatsapp on the computer, where it's easier to type and see videos that are sent me. I know how to get around the winebrowser there by clicking directly on the image instead of the link. What surprised me was that when I wanted to see more information on KDE widgets (from the Download new widgets files) I got the same thing when I clicked on a wideget. So I assumed there was a problem. Apparently there isn't, so thanks for your input.Comment
