After the recent batch of updates something seems to have happened that degrades my graphics. I am not entirely sure how to even diagnose it. I see subtle changes in how the application windows look and how the notifications appear and disappear, etc. For example, there is a brief black box that appears just before a notification appears and disappears. I no longer see thumbnails of windows when I use the task switcher (I made sure I have the thumbnail view in my Settings). Instead I see big icons and shapes of the windows in the task switcher bar.
I have an nvidia graphics card and I use the proprietary drivers picked from the Additional Drivers manager. Any ideas what's going on? How can I measure graphics performance?
