    Trouble Casting to Chromecast

Has anyone been successful getting Elisa, Clementine, Lollypop, or any of the Audio players to successfully play audio through the Chromecast?

I am running Groovy Gorilla with the latest 5.8 Kernel, which I could imagine may be of some issue, but Chrome has no problem seeing, connecting and playing to the Chromecast.

I tried unsuccessfully to get mkchromecast to work, which seems to be a fairly consistent issue based upon many comments and posts from across the web.

I was able to install pulseaudio-dlna and get it to connect, but even when connected and showing the volume moving with the audio on the Chromecast device, there was no actual audio.

With Google forcing my library to the currently pathetic offering that is YouTube Music, I am trying to get one of the Music Players set with my library to cast to the Chromecast. Right now it seems the only workaround may be using Chrome to cast the desktop and see if that is successful - not what I'd prefer however.

VLC will do it, though being a video player, the interface isn't geared toward music.

mkchromecst doesn't work well probably because it has not seen any updates since 2017, and some of the bits it uses to do the actual work are buggy

    https://github.com/muammar/mkchromecast/issues/302 may help here.

Might be overkill, but I use Plex Media Server for audio as it's really improved lately. It can cast to Chromecast from the browser, or via the mobile app. Alternatively, you could also just cast the tab from Chrome.
