Dolphin can see but Partitionmanager can not

How can dolphin see a partition but partitionmanager cannot see a partition.

In the PM, did you try clicking the "Refresh" button? (I think that is under the tab Devices > Refresh, or something similar. If it is a thumb drive, of course, removing, re-inserting, and then doing a Refresh can help--doing all this while in the PM.)

I tried removing and reinserting the flash drive while in PM but still, dolphin sees the partition while PM doesn't. It's USB 3.0 if that matters.

Please reload the window."
Of course reloding the tab NEVER works. Its the same message I have been getting for years. I bet it's logging out after so many hours or something and just not saying that. Even though remember me is checked.

I would also try, instead of PM, gparted (installed through Muon).

Do you have an unfinished post that is left open for a period of time, by any chance? I can't reproduce this, even on a test user account.
The 'token' referred to here is not a login one, but one specifically for having the text editor open. Are you being logged off when refresh?

I used to get this when I would take ages to create a post after going down a rabbit hole. Well over 15 mins perhaps? Yeah, vBulletin's message is crap, and at some point, refreshing will not work. I don't see a setting that affects the posting time limit so far. There are about 69999900288 settings options, though. It is hard to track, especially with only one person being affected., and I don't yet see anything on vB's documentation or forums.
I have not had a posting session time out for a very long time now.


I think the only way to see what may be going on is to query the mysql database, which I definitely won't know what to search for, but I don't have access to that. Nor do I want it.

Now I suspect it might be that I take to long to type sometimes. I didn't know the post could time out.

I have always stuck with Gparted, through my years with Linux. There used to be a mild controversy about Gparted versus the PM, and the PM did--so it seems--occasionally have some issues. But, lately, many expert users here at Kubuntu say that PM is solid, and there shouldn't be any problems with it or PM vs Gparted controversy. I don't really know, frankly. You might say that by force of habit, I have just stayed with Gparted and never had any sort of problem with it. As you can see at its website, GParted has a nice Manual, and lots of guidance, like a capability table showing what it can do.

It seems PM does have at least one problem. Whether the PM guys want to refuse to accept that or if they go on a debugging hunt remains to be seen. Maybe a BTRFS and or USB issue?

Western Digital told me to send it back to them. A friend tried it on his Windows 10 notebook and Windows sometimes saw it but couldn't access the partition. Windows thinks the drive is broken. WD said they will send a new one. UPS says probably tomorrow is when they estimate delivery to WD. Annoying I lose my games and have to redownload. O well, at least it's not my system drive. Strange since the drive is less than one year old. WD drives usually last for years before anything breaks. I have several that are over 10 Y/O and like the energizer bunny 'they keep going and going'.

Cost 5 something for the RMA.

Probably a good move there. Too bad, but it happens. I think you are OK with WD, IMO. The new one they send may last indefinitely. Usually with a HDD, you get a DOA or not, but yours went almost a year before an issue. Keep us posted.
