Repo list bugged?

Adding wine repo failed.

The error message is quite clear, in a way: what is on line 57 of the file?
Might be good just to copy and paste the whole thing, but line 57 alone might be enough.

As your image shows us, your repository string is incorrect.

You show: "deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/disco main"

It should be: "deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ disco main" (note the space between the last / and disco)

Great now I can't run muon. It says my system may be broken! can't read, /apt/sources. Here is line 57 of the file.

That is also what https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu has on their web page.

Boot to recovery mode (single user). You'll just be at a prompt (no Desktop loaded), and you'll be running 'as root'. Edit the file (nano /etc/apt/sources.list) and correct that line as per my previous post. Save/close the file and then reboot (shutdown -r now).

I hate having to do that because then it goes to auto display and goes to 1080x1024 and gets the aspect ratio wrong! Then the side is cut off and I can't see all the characters. When I install a new Kubuntu I always have switch resolutions via the NVIDIA tool. I use 1680x1050 because that uses the correct aspect ratio.

Just use a normal text editor.
There is no need to boot into recovery to fix the sources.list file, unless you can't boot or log in for some reason.

I think I fixed it using kate. I hope I fixed it. Muon seems to work now.

I forgot to finish this thread. I got it fixed and was able to install wine stagging and then Lutris gaming tool then I installed Satisfactory: Early Acces. The game runs great except the video in the dropship doesn't play (I suspect codecs or something like that, a minor issue that doesn't seem to matter) and the mouse bug which is probably an E. A. thing since non-wine users also get it. Possibly a Logitech compatibility issue. The game is not on steam go to epicgames.com If anyone plays then I could use some co-op help.

You're unlikely to get any help when you totally change topics mid-thread. Wine game problems have nothing to do with your formerly broken repo entry.

I suggest you mark this one "solved" and start a new thread for your new problem.
