Issues with Plasma network settings

Hi to all! I am having some trouble trying to connect my PC to an ethernet connection trough the KDE network settings, it tries to connect but it fails every time even when I add a new connection. I already know it's a problem with this specific installation since other computers with Kubuntu work with no problems. The last thing I did before having issues was setting manually the IP and DNS through the settings. If I try "sudo dhclient enp1s0" I can get a connection but touching the configuration with the settings app breaks it.

My Kubuntu version is 18.10 with the Backports PPA added.

After some investigation I found out the culprit was the cable, it had nothing to do with software.
