When I put my mouse over one of the icons in LO Writer or Calc, the drop down description is not showing.
The 18.10 is running in VB with the updated version of KDE 5.14.2.
Installing libreoffice-gtk3 and libreoffice-kde does not fix it.
What's going on here?

Sounds like a theme vs. gtk issue. What themes do you have set?

I did not change any setting from the stock 18.10.
