KDE partition manager can't edit label

When attempting to edit a label gives the following error: [#]Unable to create io-slave. Can not create socket for launching io-slave for protocol 'file'.[/#]

Did it prompt you for your password to run a root?

      Yes. That part works.

Its a 4 GB drive. Is that too big for it? I noticed up to 10 GB drives are being sold now. If size is a problem then KDE partition manager needs some work.

Hmmm, 4Gb and 10Gb drives ... seems like we've jumped back about 15 years!

OK, Steve7233, I think you mean TB not GB: a 4 TB drive. Above, I think, 2 TB, you must use the newer GPT (GUID Partition Table), not the older dos-mbr (or whatever it is called by your partition editor). So check that detail.

Not sure what partition manager you used. In any case, I would try GParted. You can install it in Kubuntu using Muon (gparted); or make a live CD/USB.
