    Unable to properly connect to the Internet

    Even though my wifi adapter does connect to the modem. For some reason on Firefox I am not able to load a single page, unless if I disconnect it and reconnect my wifi adapter card many times, or go to the update manager and click on update or something.

    Even though if I manage to get firefox to load up Google, if I search up "Firejail" and go to their official website https://firejail.wordpress.com then for some reason it is unable to load the page, and many other pages it is not able to load.

    I did select install third party software when installing Kubuntu so I should have all my drivers installed, including nVidia.

    I have not had this issue on Xubuntu, ArchLabs and Manjaro.

    Not quite. The installer will add some non-open-source audio and video codecs, but Nvidia driver are not included in this. Check the Driver
    Video divers don't have an effect on networking.

    What network card do you have? Do OS updates download as expected? Dou you get any messages from the browser? Is is every time you use a browser? We need more details. Any browser extensions? Running any firewall software?

      The installation is just brand new I did not install anything, I have done updates, sometimes it works sometimes some daemons crash. I believe I have only done OS update once. My wifi adpater is D-Link DWA-125. Everytime I open up firefox this issue happens, I have tried restarting my PC many times, still doesn't make a difference. I do get a message from the browser and I will attach two images which shows this.

      No browser extensions. I haven't installed anything other than doing updates and this was even happening before updating. I don't believe Kubuntu comes with any configured firewall that should be blocking any of this.

        Hmmm..
        What version of Xubuntu was this working on for you? If it is 18.10, it *should* work exactly the same, as both Kubuntu and Xubuntu are quite literally are the exactly same OS , kernel, drivers, networking, etc under the gui desktop bits.

        Post the output of the command $ lsusb

        We are looking for a line with info about a Ralink wifi chip, which should help narrow dome thing a little, specifically which driver is in use.
        Some Ralink based wifi devices can be finicky. One brand that uses them are fine, another is crappy, and one distro will be ok, and another it won't.

        Have you by any chance tried to use a different USB port, just to see if there is a difference?

          Yeah I know right it doesn't make any sense.

          This was my output BEFORE I removed the wifi adapter and connected it to another USB female port.

          Have you by any chance tried to use a different USB port, just to see if there is a difference?
          I have tried doing that and it did load up google and it went to the firejail site, but it could not load up the brave browser website "https://brave.com/" until I disconnected it and reconnected it to the original female usb port.

          When I tried to load the download page, then it would show the same error message but after reconnecting it in the same USB female port then it works and I seem to be having to do this for any new page I want to load.

            Can we assume that Xubuntu was also 18.10, and on the same computer?

            This device has *tons* of problems, but these seem to be from 9 or 10 years ago.

            Lets see what driver is loaded:

            $ lsmod | grep rt

            and to see if a driver has been blacklisted

            $ rfkill list all

              Yeah everything is exactly the same, the wifi adapter, the PC, the exact same USB port that I am using to connect the wifi adapter to etc.

              I did install this program on both Xubuntu and Kubuntu which is called GRUB customizer, which essentially allows you to change the boot order, and I set Windows to be my default OS to boot into.

              It works perfectly on Windows (provided that you install D-Link drivers), and on other Linux distros.

              Lets see what driver is loaded:

              $ lsmod | grep rt
              I got this

              Code:
              rt2800usb              32768  0
              rt2x00usb              20480  1 rt2800usb
              rt2800lib             114688  1 rt2800usb
              rt2x00lib              53248  3 rt2800usb,rt2x00usb,rt2800lib
              mac80211              794624  3 rt2x00lib,rt2x00usb,rt2800lib
              cfg80211              663552  2 rt2x00lib,mac80211

              parport                49152  3 parport_pc,lp,ppdev
              and to see if a driver has been blacklisted

              $ rfkill list all
              This is what I saw after running that command.

              Code:
              0: phy0: Wireless LAN
                     Soft blocked: no
                     Hard blocked: no

                OK so what I did was I reinstalled Kubuntu and I did not install third party software during the installation and now the wifi adapter perfectly works fine.
