Epson Perfection v330 scanner problem

Hi.
I just updated from 18.04 to 18.10. Or, rather, I was using 18.04 and decided to start anew and do a fresh install of 18.10.
The thing is, my Epson Perfection v330 scanner was working OK since probably 12.10 or so and it isn't anymore. I downloaded the drivers just allright and installed iscan. lsusb finds the scanner, but when trying to use iscan it says "unable to send command" or something similar.
Any help appreciated!

OK, I found the solution here.

Furthermore, to activate the JPG option, I installed libjpeg62 (libjpeg9 doesn't do the trick) via Synaptic.
