    Removable device sound notifications?

I use a Windows system for work and I've decided I like the audible notification when you insert or remove a removable device, but I cant seem to find that in Plasma. I've looked quite a bit. Internet searching has been useless.

Anyone know where to set this or even if it exists?

Yes, you are right, it does not seem to exist. There appears to be a sound notification for just about everything else except a removable device. I agree that it would be useful.

I have a feeling it might have been present in the past - like about 10 years ago - but like many useful little configuration tweaks it has vanished over the years, I don't know why maybe to stop the code base from getting too bloated with features deemed fairly trivial.

I assume such items are controlled by the maintainers of the KDE code. Maybe worth contacting them, perhaps thay have a "wish list" ?

    Good Luck

It does not exist. You would have to create a udev rule that calls a notification or a sound

As the applet opens up, as opposed to a notification, there is not a way to set a sound via the unused (in this situation) notification system

Further to my last post on this topic, I have just booted into Mint 19 Tessa, which I occasionally use, with the Cinnamon desktop and out of curiosity went into settings and while the list of audio notifications is nowhere near as extensive as available on the plasma desktop it does have audible notification when a device is inserted or removed so it is possible. As I said before, I am sure it has been there in the past but like other features has been removed for whatever reason
