    Okular and strange pdf

    I've never seen this before
Am using Ocular V1.3.3 for pdf files and have just had a problem where some characters in the form are missing. Viewing the same file with FireFox shows the correct information.
The file itself is confidential so I can't share it.

Missing, or replaced with 'something'; a square box or a question mark perhaps.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

So I'm on Neon (based on Ubuntu 18.04) and Okular here is v1.9.3. Is Okular fully updated?

Thanks Snowhog, several complete words and even whole lines of words are missin.
I notice that the file is based on an official form that our auditors completed with data specific to me. It is only the added information that is missing or incomplete.

          Thanks Worzel
          I re-installed Okular from synaptic but it's still 1.3.3
Tried :~S sudo snap install okular but kept getting "Automattically connect eligible plug & slots . . .

I don't know if it works for the current version of Plasma, but when I was running 16.04 I used this Dolphin service menu for PDFs.
            https://store.kde.org/p/1227799/
It has a lot of features related to converting PDF versions.
Here are various KDE 5 service menus for PDF documents

LESS FEATURES BUT NO MORE DEPENDENCE ON PDFTK!

            Extract from PDF:
            - Images
            - Text
            - Attachments

            Convert PDF to:
            - Optimize
            - PDF/A-1b
            - PDF/A-2b
            - DjVu
            - HTML
            - PNG
            - TIFF (FAX)
            - PostScript

            Repaginate PDF:
            - 2 pages per sheet
            - 4 pages per sheet
            - 6 pages per sheet
            - 8 pages per sheet
            - Custom pages per sheet
            - Booklet

            Tools for PDF:
            - Join selected PDF (alphabetic order)
            - Add another PDF to selected file
            - Rotate left
            - Rotate right
            - Rotate overturn
            - Flip horizontally
            - Extract pages
            - Extraxt all even pages
            - Extract all odd pages
            - Burst PDF pages
            - Document information
            - Print
Sometime during the 18.04 cycle Okular begin displaying the PDFs I was looking at correctly, so I never needed that tool again.

Have you tried opening it with another application like Libre Office?
