[SOLVED] How to open an .appimage file?

I am trying to download and install an update to my cloud storage software. It's called NextCloud version 2.6.2. The update is for version 2.6.3. The file is an .appimage and I get a dialogue window asking me to select which application to open it with. After a quick internet search I have found out that .appimage must be first downloaded and then made executable, but I can't even get as far as downloading it. Attached is a screenshot for context.

I betcha selecting a web browser in that dialog will fix it, and is worth a bug report with Nextcoud, as it seems not to have this baked in/enabled/etc im the appimage.

Or download the update directly from the website.
