    srvtrck.com removal?

I guess I must have gotten some malware on my 18.04 install called srvtrck.com. On a few bookmarks I have it tries to redirect me to another site after a few second count down.
I always wind up at the right place after the countdown.
    I do have Ghostery installed.

I have read instruction on its removal on other platforms but can't find one for Kubuntu.
    I am using Firefox 68.0.1 (64-bit)

    Thanks
    G

open firefox's menu>preferences in "general" scroll all the way down and click "network settings>settings" make sure nothing is filed out hear.

on the "home" tab make sure the home page is set to something you know and not some strange $4it

on the "privacy and security" tab scroll down to "security" and check to see that all 3 boxes are checked under "Deceptive Content and Dangerous Software Protection"

if none of that applys go to firefox menu>help>troubleshooting information>and click "refresh firefox"

Line one... the only thing with content is "Use system proxy settings"
Line two...just my weather page link.
Line three..."Block dangerous and deceptive content" was not checked, so I checked it

I'll restart and see what happens

      Thanks

I duckduckgo'd srvtrk.com on the ipad (just in case!!). Various sites to visit about removing srvtrk, one referring to removing plug-in from FF and/or Chrome.

May possibly have some helpful info.

As vinnie mentioned, you probably have to 'refresh' your firefox profile or even delete it and start with a new one, and as Worzel points it probably is a browser extension/addon.

You can disable all of them to check from FF's Help menu

Help >> Restart with Add-ons Disabled

I did check my add-ons and discovered that a YouTube downloader had been suspend for having some problems so I deleted it.
Hopefully that was it and it was gone.
