This morning when I opened Thunderbird, instead of the usual messages pane it gave me a pane - Accounts - Set up an account - then several options of which one was Email but which did not react to a click. I have tried everything I could think of to get back to the usual messages pane but nothing has worked. Could anyone suggest what has gone wrong, please? Even if I could set up a new email account I would be reluctant to do so for fear of wiping my extant account.
As a result of that I went searching for where Thunderbird stores messages with a view to segregating those prior to a complete uninstall reinstall. I got to .thunderbird/lur9uscn.default/Mail/Local Folders but when I opened that I got 'This file contains multiple messages. Only the first message is shown.' If that is the storage area how can I get at the other messages?
