As an aside to aside, I use kup for backup. This has the options of incremental backups using bup or synchronized backups using rsync. These can be scheduled. I use the incremental backup each day and the rsync backup weekly. If my hard drive crashes I know how to recover using rsync. I just point it in the opposite direction. Anybody know how to recover using kup/bup?

Lucky Backup also uses rsync under the hood. I've started using that backup solution on my playground laptop, and it seems to be pretty easy to use. But there are lots of ways to do the same thing in Linux
