    No Input method in Settings, switching audio output quickly and some other questions

    Hello everyone! I have been using Linux for a year but new to Kubuntu. I have some problems that I can't figure it out.

    First, why does Kubuntu not have a GUI input settings where I can choose ibus or fcitx and other settings? To use ibus, I have to run the command
    Code:
    [COLOR=#242729][FONT=Consolas]im-config -n ibus[/FONT][/COLOR]
    for typing my language (Vietnamese). Actually, ibus now can run, but there’s no icon in panel bar. How to show ibus icon? I have checked box "Show system tray" in ibus Preferences.

    Second, how can I choose one of two audio outputs from audio panel quickly? In Ubuntu,there is extension that enables me to do that just by clicking to audio icon. But in Kubuntu, I have to go to Audio settings. My laptop has two audio outputs: one is built-in audio card and one is HDMI audio. I mean how can I show 2 audio outputs in the Ports section?

    Third, is there any built-in Night light mode in Kubuntu? If so, how to use it?
    Is there any way to move the information pane to the bottom of the screen? I think it will be better, showing more information about the file (especially the resolution of photos, like Windows 7). If I have two windows side by side on the screen, the area to see files will be smaller and less efficient.
    These two positions are not very efficient for file managing two windows:

    compare to Windows 7:

    in Windows 7, I have large area to see file information, and also when I split screen by two windows, the scrolling is more convenient.

    Thank you!

      It would be better if you have three problems, to start three threads. Then the thread titles give clearer indications to those who may have particular knowledge, and make a response more likely. I understand that a new poster may be reluctant to appear to be spamming the forum, but if you're asking in good faith IMO it's not a problem if you have many questions.

      As an English speaker my forays into ibus and fcitx have been half-hearted and unsuccessful. But if you have a command that does the job, and there's no output or errors to handle, create a .desktop file. You could use a text editor, but using the KDE Menu Editor makes choosing the icon easy. Get to it by right-clicking the K menu (aka the "Application Launcher", it used to be a K) and choose Edit applications. Create a new item somewhere with the command that you want, choose an appropriate icon. and save. Then you can drag from the menu to the panel, or right-click and "Add to Panel".
      Regards, John Little

          Or install sct and run sct 4000 or whatever every evening to get the night light. Just sct returns you to the default (6500).
