Of course, no addon works very well if the user doesn't notice the red line. For some reason when Grammarly draws a red line it's a bit off from where the error actually is. Not hard to figure out though. By the way Grammerly says you misspelled bachelor.
I need to use Grammerly, too. How much/often does it nag you to buy the “pro” version?

It's not too bad but it is every once in a while. Mostly If you buy pro then it will fix more problems. It's nice to be able to see If your grammar is maybe off. Sometimes I disagree with it. You don't have to change anything it just suggests to change things. It is usually right since it is like having an English Teacher!
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

Question: Are you running Kubuntu inside a VirtualBox VM?
No. It's the host system and there is no VM's running. I don't have VMware installed, so I have no clue as to why it would install anything other than what I told apt to installl in #53

Reason: Added post number after looking back.

I thought this thread was about 32 bit libraries?
No, I am not going to read 7 pages of posts, tbh
I know we are lax on remaining on-topic in threads, but maybe this one needs a fresh start? How many like me stopped looking after a while, thinking it was about one thing and never noticing it went somewhere else?
After trying to get the 396 NVIDIA driver to work I decided to use the purge command and reinstall the 390.87 NVIDIA driver. My system is almost back the way it was a few days ago except the NVIDIA control app is missing. I don't know why it didn't get reinstalled, but the KDE monitor control can do everything that I need, so I am not going to worry about it. In a few days Kubuntu 18.10 will be out -I understand something could come up to delay it-, and hopefully that will have a newer driver than 390.87. Strange that others got to work, but I could not. Maybe the computer I am using confused aptude or something.

I have always been trying to get Steam play to work. It plays some games but there are some games that Steam says the very latest NVIDIA driver is needed. Originaly I was using Lutris/wine to run Steam for windows but then I wasd told that if I told Steam for Linux to use Steam beta, then I could try Steam play and maybe I could have all my games in one place. I need the newer NVIDIA driver for that. That's not in the regular Ubuntu repos. It is a Ubuntu 18.04.1 package.
I just tried to change the title of this thread to reflect driver problem, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change a threads title.
