    [SOLVED] GTK 3.0 problem

I fixed my ARK problem by un-installing and re-installing it. I was able to extract TPFMM. When I ran TPFMM it crashed! I ran it via a Konsel and got :
    Code:
/home/steve7233/TpFMM/TPFMM: error while loading shared libraries: libwebkitgtk-3.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
. How do I fix this? I am starting to think that maybe when I upgraded from 17.10 to Bionic, that maybe the upgrade didn't work correctly. TPFMM is short for Transport Fever Mod Manager. I think Transport Fever - Steam for Linux - is the best game of its genre.

TPFMM, not being installed by the package management system, will be missing dependencies, especially in a non-gnome/Gtk environment. The error gives a clue what is missing.

/home/steve7233/TpFMM/TPFMM: error while loading shared libraries: libwebkitgtk-3.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Searching for the missing file should be in the package is called libwebkitgtk-3.0-0, which you can install using Muon, Synaptic, mor the cli. . You may find other missing files, with similar investigation needed
Use https://packages.ubuntu.com/ and look for the 'Search the contents of packages' section.

However, I am confused (not hard to do!) - is this a steam game, or a standalone game? What is the install process, if any?

Transport Fever is a game available from both Steam or Gog. Mods, or modifications, are packages you can add to the game which modifies its behavior. Transport Feaver Mod Manager allows the player to control and keep track of the mods and their sources.

TpF is heavily moddable so you can add vehicles, decorations, train stations, bridges, roads, adjust the GUI, make new maps and many other things. Many people find it extremely entertaining. It does take a while to learn the game mechanics. After you learn the way the game works it's enormously rewarding. Many ways to play. In free play, there is no specific end. Some people play until their computer gets to bogged down then start a new game. Urban Games, is making an Mt. Everest sized pile of money!

That fixed it! Just the one missing depedancy as it works so far. What a relief. Now I can find one mode amongst nearly 700. All the mod folders are named with a 6 digit number. Finding just one mode requires some major searching. With this program I get a list of the mod names so finding them will be a lot faster. That helps with trouble shooting since every major update tends to break one or more mods requiering an update to the mod.

There appears to be a problem with Kubuntu forums. I tried to mark this post as solved. It said 'This post has already been marked as solved" It does not appear to be marked solved. Is this a Kubuntu forum bug?

It shows it here now. I guess the browser didn't update the tab correctly. It could have been some server in the path was messed up. The internet has always had glitches ever since the civilian version was created in the early 1980's right after the Darpanet was created by the US military.
