Encryption and LVM on a Manually Set Partition Scheme?

I'm dual booting with Windows (Which has a small 150GiB Portion of my HDD), and a far larger Kubuntu section. I would like to enable disk encryption (Or at least Home folder encryption), but these options disappear when I'm reinstalling the OS since I have to go to the manual configuration page, removing the options for LVM/Full disk encryption.

Home folder encryption support was dropped (God only knows why) from the installer, and I'm aware that I can re-enable this after the install in finished via crypt-setup. LVM apparently is a pain to do after installation though. Is there any way to install the OS with these options from the installer? If not, why are these options removed?

One option: Vaults. They've added the ability to encrypt individual folders.

Yeah, I'm happy that the vaults feature was moved from an optional package to a permanent feature.
