    [SOLVED] Where is synaptic?

I tested numerous 32-bit beta and release candidates of 18.04. I just installed the final release. I tried to install synaptic but get
    Code:
    howard@X41kubuntu1804:~$ sudo apt-get install synaptic
    [sudo] password for howard:
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
Package synaptic is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'synaptic' has no installation candidate
    howard@X41kubuntu1804:~$
This command installed synaptic in all the test cases. What happened in the final release?
    Thanks,
    Howard

        Solved

OK, this morning the same command did install synaptic. Something must have been not quite ready in the repositories when I tried yesterday.

          sudo apt-get install synaptic.

synaptic is not politically acceptable nowadays...

          it gives one...control...
