17.10 to 18.04

well I couldn't stand it any longer , heard from Rik Mills on Telegram that 18.04 had the plasma-5.12.3 now (my 17.10 already had it) so I did the "do-release-upgrade -d" on my 17.10 install .

1990 package upgrade + the upgrader seamed to know it was working in a BTRFS file system and took it's own snapshot of the system before it started the deed .

seams to be ok so far .

as long as you have other systems to work in why not .
but the first thing I have found is that Spotify will not install because of different versions of libcurl and avcodec's .

desktop theme is "Dark Translucent" and the window decoration is the same.

Well, I took the plunge. Install was kind of funky acting but didn't produce a no-boot so easy to get the rest of packages to install.

All in all, NICE!! Love it!! Will be on this LTS for a while!
