Testing Kubuntu 18.04 LTS 32bit Live USB

Well, it runs, from the USB stick, but has serious screen splitting. It does seem to attempt to correct for this but is still visible.

I did go through the various options for sync configuration, but none of them stop the splitting entirely and some slow the system to unusable speeds.

This is a step up from Kubuntu 16.04 LTS 32 bit on my laptop. It would not run at all.

Progress is being made, I'm optimistic.

I'll test more when I can get another hard drive for the laptop.

I have run many distros on USB and I experienced exactly what you are posting.

The only solution for me was to the different compoiters, X , open, etc...

kinda strange, but each distro and each of three hardware setups worked best with "this"...

so go to..settings/system settings/display and monitor / compositor...

and...because it is a "KDE thing"...there will be MANY variants...

and your

graphics card

and your monitor...

and...what is...that... a RED MOON TONIGHT?...lol...really... NOT KIDDING...

it will take patiently clicking through all of them...

I really do make sure that i have the "generic wallpaper" displayed in the basic, original "activity"...



and click this, save etc. watch the activity...tears... go back...click that, save, etc...watch the activity...tears... until you find the one that does no tear...

but for another piece of hardware...no...

the WONDERFULNESS of KDE is all those options...

and with all that WONDERFULLNESS...

it is all a heartache...
