new Asus TUF FX505DU laptop

Hoping I have the right forum here.

I just bought a new Asus TUF FX505DU laptop. I want to install Kubuntu. I really like the RGB keyboard since I work mainly from 8 pm to midnight tin a dimly lit room and black-on black keyboards are horrible.

Is anybody else here running Kubuntu on an Asus with an RGB keyboard and does the light control work under Kubuntu or does it require special s/w under windows? The FN and up/down keys control the light intensity and it would seem that that should work independent of the OS.

Anybody here have any experience with this.?

Kind of a specific piece of hardware. Why not boot to a live USB and see how it goes? You can still install needed packages to a live session, they just won't be there the next time to boot.

Thank yoou. I'll have to investigate this. I don't need anything fancy. I just need the keyboard lit up so that it's visible. I'm ot a gamer so don't need anything fancy.
