Kernel update to version five has caused graphics issues

The most recent upgrade in 18.04 has caused a constant flicking, sort of on/off very quickly

I'm running now from the previous kernel

Not sure if to try and fix or perhaps you guys can advise about removing kernel 5 and then setting the system only to install security patched for kernel 4. ?
