Hi, before explaining my problem, I want to report that despite spending time going back and forth between different distros, I am noob in terms of commands. (And I do not know much English either.)

Please check wether dvb driver is loaded and
verify that no dvb application (i.e. vdr) is running.

See if this question helps... which basically boils down (assuming your driver is OK, which it probably is) to typing (well, pasting ;·) :

echo "options smsmdtv default_mode=4" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/smsmdtv.conf

[EDIT] Ah, sorry, I see that you already have (seen it).
Well... have you tried typing that in a terminal and rebooting?
Or, what is it that puzzles you?
