[SOLVED] No sound only in games

I don't know if this belongs here or in software.

My sound set up meant setting "System Settings/Multi Media/Audio Settings" to "Built in Audio Analog Stereo".
In "Audio & Video/Audio Hardware" set up I also set "sound card" to "Built in Audio"
The audio tests all work. I can go on the internet with Firefox and hear sound at places like YouTube.
But any game I try from the repositories like Assault Cube, or SuperTexCart, or any installed Steam games, I get no audio.

I'm not sure how to proceed to figure out what the problem is.

in the"Device preferances" tab (of multimedia kcm) be sure that the correct device is on the top of the games list under the playback section. hit apply..
Option #2 open the game (not in full screen) and in the volume mixer applet (in system tray) drag the application to the device you want to play back the sound.
