hi all i had a prity abismal time with next cloud support forum so im scrapping that idea.

but what about opperating my own web dav share, can anyone lend me a hand if i run into trouble, my first problem will be to remove nextcloud and if its not needed mysql

I think youre going to have to be more specific. What do you want to accomplish in the end? A web development setup? A live server?

im looking for the easiest option for me to play my media at my mums house without having to coppy the files to the local machine, its looking like sfpt/ftp my be the easiest option as it is integrated into kodi already i just dont want to have to coppy them to the local machine before watching it

and I am currently running a ftp server so i guess all i have to do is add my mums account details to my ftp server and if i got this right it should be ready to rock
