After last set of updates in 17.10 plasma won't launch and black screen

Hi, I ran some updates the other day in Kubuntu 17.10 and now I just get a black screen and can't load plasmashell. When I try load it from konsole it gives this output: https://paste.ubuntu.com/=78Vjk6SMhr/

I've got a mouse so can at least load konsole etc.

I also emptied the .cache folder but it hasn't helped.

Thanks for any help at all to start to debug and fix this

Do you still have Internet access on the affected PC? From a Konsole, can you ping successfully? Assuming 'yes', try running:

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade

Are there any warning/error messages about missing/unconfigured packages?

Hi thanks Snowhog, whatever it was seems to have fixed itself by adding the updates from this morning - maybe a bug somewhere in the backport plasma packages or something, but we're back up and running! Thanks very much.
