Spectacle still showing a transparent background

I've installed 17.10 with backports in VirtualBox 5.2. I took a delayed screenshot using kde-spectacle. The background appears pixelated. I remember something similar happening in 16.04.

    Code:
    $ apt policy kde-spectacle
    kde-spectacle:
    Installed: 17.04.3-0ubuntu1
    Candidate: 17.04.3-0ubuntu1
    Version table:
    *** 17.04.3-0ubuntu1 500
       500 http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/universe amd64 Packages
       100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
    $
The first image doesn't show this pixelated background properly. I'll upload another.

The second image isn’t pixilated; it’s transparent. What Desktop Theme are you using?

      1 Workspace theme > Dark
      2 Desktop theme > Breeze
3 Icon theme > Breeze Dark

I'll try to edit my first post to fix the terminology! I tried but I couldn't change the thread title.

This is how it looks when I take a delayed screenshot of the entire screen. The image was a delayed screenshot of the "active window."

If there's any other information or test required, I'll be happy to oblige!

You click Edit Post and then click the Go Advanced button. That allows you to edit the Thread Title.

I did that. IIRC, a mod has to change the title somewhere else.

Look at your image. The top section contains two editable items: Reason for Editing and Title.

I logged in with my ‘non-admin’ account and created a thread. I then followed my steps and was able to edit the Thread Title. Did you try what I indicated?
Ah. Yes, I remember that ‘now’.

What would you like the Title to read?

I don't know if this is technically a "fix" but if you change your default file type for saving in Spectacle from png to jpg it will no longer have a transparent background. jpg doesn't normally support the alpha channel so no transparency.

So technically, the OP isn’t experiencing a problem at all. If a .png with a transparent background is saved to his PC, then any image viewer capable of supporting transparent images will display it that way.

Since transparent in the right term, you could please change pixelated to transparent. Thanks!

Okay, if what I'm seeing is expected behavior, I'll mark this [SOLVED].
