I took 17.10 for a spin and see that Amarok is not there. Will we lose Amarok in 17.10 or will it be installable?

I am not in my 17.10 install at the moment ,,,but a quick

apt search amarok

should let you know.

Yup, it's installeble. I also read that Amarok was not available for plasma 5 but apparently that's not true. Thanks Vinny.

Amarok is still KDE 4, there is no Plasma 5 based release at this time.

What's the default music player in 17.10, and are there any Plasma 5 based music players?

I'll probably stick with amarok out of habit, but the music player field seems somewhat neglected these days. Is it because the kids stream everything online from spotify or whatever?

It's a player called Cantata. I've never heard of it but I like Amarok.
