This is a Music Player Daemon frontend, so configuration & usage may be unfamiliar. Most users will want to select the 'basic single user setup' in the first run wizard.

In the eye of the beholder...
About a year a go:
Plasma devel mailing list: https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/plasma-devel
--> Which applications does the Plasma team recommend to use with Plasma? : https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/plasm...ly/055497.htmlBefore you edit, BACKUP !
Why there are dead links ?
1. Thread: Please explain how to access old kubuntu forum posts

Ok, someone name a Qt5 music player then?
Clementine is qt4, which is EOL, and this library is going to be removed from many a distro's repos before too long .
Also, despite the fact that clementine is great, I know from long experience that there likely will be far more complaints on how ugly it is or how poorly it's KDE3 era appearance fits into a Plasma desktop.
Does the Kubuntu implementation set up MPD automagically, or is there a setup wizard or something?

There have been a number of surveys and posts on the forum and on mailing lists about the installed media player in Kubuntu. As mentioned above, we are moving away from anything Qt4 this is why we removed amarok from our desktop seed (There has been some good news that there has been some work done porting amarok to KF5, so it might be back in Kubuntu 18.04)
I have been keeping an eye on Yarock and have packaged it in my PPA. If you don't want to go to the bother/hassle of building it yourself, you can install it from here - https://launchpad.net/~clivejo/+archive/ubuntu/yarock

Clementine has a qt5 build in development https://github.com/clementine-player...ntine/tree/qt5
Mailing lists and forums are not remotely the best place to do surveys of opinion in 2017. You have 11 thousand followers on facebook. 17 have read this thread so far.

We have sufficient evidence that shallow opinion surveys are worthless if not damaging or misleading.Kubuntu 20.04

While only 17 have read this thread there are almost 15,000 registered users of this forum, and that number has the same meaning as your 11,000 Facebook followers number, which doesn't mean that they are recent or active. Depending on what cutoff date and distro activity period you use, as many as a 1,000 members are active at any given time. Some haven't been active in years, and I'd wager that the most of the Facebook "followers" are in the same category. I've been here for eight years, since January of 2009, but some have been active here from the beginning.
If you want to gather meaningful, experienced opinions about Kubuntu or Neon then this forum is probably your best place. If you want an opinion on Ubuntu or Mint then their forums are probably the best place to visit. IOW, the opinion of those who have vested experience and interest in Kubuntu means more than those who have not.Last edited by GreyGeek; Oct 20, 2017, 08:31 PM."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”
