I just lost use of one of the USB ports on my new Thinkpad. It was working fine, now it doesn't work (noting I plug in is recognised).
I guess it could be hardware, but how can I check to see if it's just a software glitch? The computer has two USB ports, only one of them is functional now.
I ran dmesg
and lsusb
Drivers seem to be loading.
I ran tail -f /var/log/syslog and plugged an external USB drive into the working port
Then, unmounted and unplugged the drive, and plugged it into the non-working port
...nothing when I plug into the non-working port.
Any ideas?
