Hi! I have a problem with HDMI. I do this:
1. Connect my Kubuntu laptop to a TV using HDMI.
2. Under System Settings -> Multimedia, HDMI audio now exists as an option. Select that one.
3. HDMI video and audio now plays correctly on the TV.
4. Let the screen go to sleep (which it does after a minute or two, as configured under System Settings -> Power Management).
5. Wake the screen back up.
6. HDMI audio is now dead. When I go back to System Settings -> Multimedia, HDMI is not available as an option.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable does not fix this.
Logging out of KDE and logging back in fixes it.
I have two questions:
A: This clearly looks like a bug. Where should I report it? Which component should be responsible for this?
B: Logging out fixes it, presumably because it restarts some process. Does anyone know which process that might be? Can I restart it manually without having to log out?
Thanks in advance!
My laptop is a HP 250 G6 Notebook PC.
It might be related to this other HDMI problem I am having: https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...e-disconnected
