Problems with linux-image-4.10.0-33-generic and Initramfs-tools packages.

Hello! I am new to this forum, which I hope to belong for a long time. My problem is this: today, when I go to update the packages I have installed and I skipped an error code 1. When executing the command "sudo dpkg --configure -a" to reconfigure the broken packages I got the following message from error:

    "Errors were encountered while processing:
    linux-image-4.10.0-33-generic
    Initramfs-tools "

I have tried uninstalling those packages but it will not let me.

Any possible solution will be welcome.

First of all thank you very much for answering. I have done what you told me and I got the following error:

      "update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-4.10.0-19-generic with 1.
dpkg: error processing package initramfs-tools (--configure):

      Errors were encountered while processing:

Are you able to boot into the previous kernel?

That's an idea I've been hanging around, but I do not know how to do it.

As soon as I can perform the steps that are advised on the page whose link you have passed me, I will try to update the packages I have installed and comment the results here.

I just loaded the previous kernel, 4.10.19, which works fine; I have updated and, when it came out the message "Reading package list ... Done Creating dependency tree Reading the status information ... Done Calculating the update ... Done The package indicated below was installed automatically and is no longer necessary.
thermald Use "sudo apt autoremove" to remove it. 0 updates, 0 new ones will be installed, 0 to remove and 0 not updated.

do you wish to continue? [Y / n] ", I pressed the" Y "key to continue ... but I have returned the same error message, only now the protagonist is the kernel 4.10.19:

                "update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-4.10.0-19-generic with 1.
dpkg: error processing package initramfs-tools (--configure):

                Errors were encountered while processing:
                initramfs-tools
                E: Sub-process / usr / bin / dpkg returned an error code (1) "

I have also noticed in this another error message that also appears, and in which I had not noticed until now:

                "E: / usr / share / initramfs-tools / hooks / fsck failed with return 1."

Another thing I've also done is check if the linux-image-generic package was still installed on my system, were it not that when I tried to uninstall the linux-image-4.10.0-33-generic package it would have been uninstalled. For this I used the command "dpkg --get-selections | grep linux-image" ... and the linux-image-generic package did not appear anywhere. So I installed it and tried to update again, again without success. Now the message that appears to me is this:

                    "update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-4.10.0-19-generic with 1.
dpkg: error processing package initramfs-tools (--configure):

No report was written "apport" because the value of «MaxReports» has already been reached
                    Errors were encountered while processing:

Looking for information on the Internet, I found a thread in the Ubuntu forum where a user who had exactly the same problem as I was told that the only way to solve it, as long as there was no experience with Ubuntu and derivatives (which is my case with Kubuntu), is to reinstall the operating system.
We can give the problem by solved.
