    kdesudo dolphine not working

Why doesn't kdesudo dolphin work anymore? I am trying to install a driver for my Ethernet card. It's unsupported in ubuntu so I had to download a tarball from realtech which has a Linux driver and then compile it. see my other post in network for the modelI figured kdesudo dolphine would be quicker than just the cli.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

The command line is never slower than a GUI application. I just went to Realtek's website and downloaded the tarball. After downloading it, I checked the permissions. On my machine:
    Code:
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 john john 59294 Jul 26 17:56 0007-r8101-1.031.02.tar.bz2
In Dolphin, in opens up with Ark without prompting Dolphin to do anything, other than clicking on the filename. You shouldn't have to open Dolphin with kdesudo, although that works, too.

Once you get to ver. 17+ of Dolphin you can no longer launch it as root (or Kate) with Kdesudo or sudo or at all .

you can still edit root "files" however just do it (edit or create) and when you go to save it you will get a password box (if root privilege was needed), enter your password and it will save .

If you must have a file manager that will run as root and happily let you destroy your system ,,,,,,,,Krusader is one.

I just thought I could compile with kdesudo dolphin, so I could use a gui. I just used the cli. It didn't work as my Ethernet still won't connect. Maybe connectionmanager needs some manual tweaking in some config file.

You cant compile anything with Dolphin, its just a file manager. Why did your compile fail? Missing dependencies? Compiling itself does not require internet.

Yes, errors message(s) at the very least, or screen shots of the compile from Konsole. Sometimes there are source code packages that need to be present for successful completion of a specific compile.

Is there any requirements listed in the readme file that is inside the tarball?
