    My civ6 game stopped working/steam

I have played over a thousand hours on this computer with various versions of Kubuntu. I just did a fresh install of 17.04. I got steam via apt from the kubuntu repos. I downloaded my game. Clicked on play. It said starting. After about three seconds steam gave up with no error message. Do I need a kernel module (driver)? I used drivermanager but the only two it listed was the wifi which is already in use and the Intel microde thing which I enabled. Yes I rebooted but no change.

I haven't run the updates yet. I was worried about hosing my system again. Maybe I should make a snapshot of @/ first. I also posted on the games Linux thread incase anyone there has an idea.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

You should snapshot both @ and @home and if you feel a need to restore one then restore both.

I meant civ5. I found this: FS#54136 - [lib32-glibc] Borderlands 2 crashes with glibc 2.25-2 Maybe this is also Civ5's problem. I checked the games Steam forum and there seem to be a lot of people that can't get their game to run. Looks like the latest version of glibc has a bug that causes some steam games to segfault. It has been reported from many distros and Aspry media knows so hopefully they can patch a work around until the glibc people get it fixed. The old version still works, but a roll back might break other things. A fix would be better.

          From one of the reports:
"Try adding the launch option "-nostartupmovies -nomovies". It got the game working for me."

@GG Your still on Neon right? That's 16.04. I am using 17.04. You might not have the problem. It's the latest version of glibc.
