    Steam doesn't start

    Hi

I was using Steam without problem until now. Suddenly, games stopped from upgrading, but client worked, so, I unistalled it and then installed again, but now, It doesn't start because appears a message saying:

"Error: Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again."

Of course my network connection is working, In fact, I can use steam from another computer in the same network.

    The Steam log says:

    "[2017-07-10 12:19:50] Startup - updater built Nov 23 2016 01:05:42

    Solved with:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libnss-resolve:i386
    Thanks

Steam REALLY needs to be offered as a Snap. All problems would then go away.

Or Flatpack. I'm not picky. I just loath installing Steam.

...And before someone complains about the size of said application images, I have around 80 Steam games that take up around 500GB or so, so a GB dedicated to a Steam Snap is hardly a concern. It would seem like a match made in heaven to me.
