Wich version of Kubuntu has support for the Intel Vapii diver?

Apparently the Intel vapii driver or whatever it's name is was depreciated at some point. I need it to tell the kernel how to use my GMA45 chip set so my games will function again. I need to burn a copy of which ever version of Kubuntu last had support for it. In 17.04 most of the files are still there, but the kernel files have been removed. One of the reasons I quit using Windozes was because I read that Linux was backwards compatible, so the usr doesn't have to upgrade all the time. I guess it is only backwards compatible for about 9 years then you either use a previous version of Kubuntu and risk lose of support or the usr is forced to upgrade the computer like with Windows.

Anyway which version should I downgrade to? I know, I probably have to burn it and do a fresh install. I doubt there is a way to literally downgrade.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

Again Yakaty fails to download. Maybe your sever is having problems?

I finally managed to get 16.10 downloaded. I had to resume it several times because it kept stalling and then Firefox called it failed. I just resumed from where it stalled. After several hours of playing with it, I was able to burn it via K3b. I will try installing it tomorrow and then add the unsupported PPA, so I can enable the Vaapi driver. It would probably be better to use a Kubuntu package, but since Ubuntu decided to depreciate it then this is the best way. Hopefully I can afford some new computers soon. I just moved across the country, so I don't have the money yet.

Isn't the i965-ap-driver in your repository? It's in mine.

It is but the Vaapi driver doesn't have the kernel files. Apparently Ubuntu decided to depreciate it so I need to use another repo that has the files. I have to use an unsupported repo in order to get the driver. When I have the money, I will buy a new computer but until then... Unfortunately I have to switch back to yakaty yak as they don't have a package yet for 17.04.
