Bash Completion plug in not working

I have recently installed Kubuntu 17.04, and the Bash Completion plug-in (or "add on") is not working in Konsole which I have been used to for many years. I created a separate "dummy" user for testing purposes, etc., and the bash completion works in it. Thus, I am ASSUMING something in my personal user directory I normally use needs fixing.

Does anyone know the problem?
