Can't install

I had the same problem with 16.04 I can only install from the netboot cd. That will work fine until I install any type of window manager, then it just gives me a blank screen. Tried a standard install using all defaults and one where II installed a Nvidia driver first. The vid card is Nvidia 970 GTX stock. Not overclocked. Works fine with 14.04 but freaks out after 16. Suggestions appreciated. This is not a produiction machine. Just hate not knowing how to fix something

You could try enabling nomodeset. Instructions are here https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1613132 If it works, you use the temporary edit of the grub menu to get into the OS and then permanently change it once you are there.
