You have to do it for each message because of some flaw in a vBulletin mod.

That change was only made to the KFNBlue Style; none of the other Styles are affected (or shouldn't be!) by the modification. That said, due to the confusion the modification is creating here, I've undone the change I made and cleared the system cache. The behavior of smilies "should" return to their 'normal' behavior.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Ah, they have! I went to the "Advanced" editor on a previous post and noticed that the box was already unchecked."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

For the adventureous, the staging-plasma PPA contains 5.8.3 for 16.10 and 16.04 since November 13:
https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+...staging-plasma
Haven't tried it, as I'm personally using neon.

I did try it on a 17.04 system and it did not remove plasma-desktop but it did remove ksysguard and the default panel does not contain a system manager. So adventurous ones beware.

I only enable that repository occasionally to see if there is any progress being made. So far I haven't seen any progress recently. By having it unchecked I still get the normal updates for Yakkety and no harm is done to my installation. Hence I am playing it safe using this approach.
I don't mind testing it on my Zesty installation as this is still in very early development and problems caused by the staging-plasma repository are worth the gamble.
