I'm trying to install 16.10 to a removable disk. I want a FAT partition at the start of the disk (so that partition can be read by windows hosts) and use encrypted LVM for the kubuntu installation. (Yeah, I know that FAT bit won't be encrypted.)
In the installer I can choose "guided - full disk using encrypted LVM" which works, but doesn't (of course) allow me a FAT partition on the disk. It just gives me a small boot partition, and a crypt LVM for root and swap.
If I choose manual, I can create the FAT partition, an ext2 for boot, and one for the crypt... but it won't allow me to install - indeed it doesn't give me any option to create the crypt; just doesn't go past the partitioning screen.
So... bright ideas on how I convince the installer to allow me to create the crypt / lvm? Or am I heading in completely the wrong direction?
