Reboot PC-name login

Hello!

Everytime I reboot the computer appears a text without GUI saying ...
PC-name login: -

It doesn't start properly.
I understand it should show the GUI with the window asking for the user and password as it does when I start the computer normally (not reboot).

What can I do?

But seriously it sounds like upon re-booting it is not reloading X server (or does 16.10 now use MIR?). You might like to take a look at the systemd settings for re-boot.

I'm new in the Linux world so I don't know what X server is or MIR or systemd.
I'm an expert about M$ Windows and I'm trying to abandom it.

taking some time to learn about these things would be good.

from what you have discribed it sounds like X is not loading.

do you get any errors ? after you log in try running startx and see if you get errors .

did u install from a live CD? did the GUI work there? did u install 3rd party drivers?

A normal boot works well, no errors.
I installed Kubuntu 16.10 x64 Desktop from a Live pendrive. I installed nothing else.
I'll try to reinstall again.

let us know how it goes. and some pc specs might help also . really just what video card you seam to have a problem with X starting

I've also had this intermittent problem after system reboots. A hard-reboot via a long press of the reset button brings back the Xwin login. I don't have this issue if I first Shutdown and then boot-up. The system has Intel HD Graphics 4000 that are integrated on the Asrock Z97E-ITX/AC motherboard.

that is very odd as the intel cards should work perfectly fine on linux. without any errors i can only guess at what the problem could be.

I have a similar (maybe?) issue whereby sometimes after a reboot I see screen flicker to the point that I must shutdown and then restart. If I do the latter, everything loads fine. I do see the log-in screen on boot, but it quickly goes away and gives way to the GUI. Odd thing is, I don't use Intel - This is a 100% AMD rig (FX-8370 Eight-Core Processor, RX 480 GPU). So, not sure if there's any correlation here or not...
