Input box problem in KDE menu and krunner

Hello all !

After upgrading my work computer to Ubuntu 16.10, I can no longer type program names to launch in KDE menu and krunner.

Sometimes (rarely) one or two keys make it into the input field, but for the most part nothing I type is entered in the input box of krunner or the KDE menu.
Even for those one or two characters that I rarely get in the input box, the Enter key will then not work.
Also when creating a new wallet I can not type a password, nothing gets displayed in the input box.

I really have to start all my programs now from the konsole, for which I already had a desktop shortcut so I can start it with the mouse only.
Almost any other programs I have installed (for work) do not have this issue and work properly.

Am I doing something wrong please ? Qt issue ?

I have a similar problem. When I try to type a program name, after the second character, Plasma restarts. I can choose the programs from the menu, but I can't search them.
