    16.04 to 16.10 upgrade

The only glitch in the upgrade was calibre dependency on the old QT so I had to remove it for now. A few PPAs are not ready for 16.10 yet: dropbox plasmazilla-release stebbins-hanndbrake virutalbox but none of that is deal breaker for me and the apps from those work just fine.

Things are not too different from plasma 5.6. It all seems rather smooth and neat.

Yakuake 3 was a pleasant surprise.

Btw, check out Jaunty install date on this machine Every hardware part has since been changed, at least once, but it is still the same install from 2009.

    What old dependency?

Here is installs and appear to run ok. Dependency is qtbase-abi-5-6-1, which is what Yakkety has.

      Very nice.

I think the oldest upgraded install I have was originally Vivid!

calibre needed qtbase-abi-5-5-1, so i removed it as I do not use it anyway on this system.

Something was wrong. Calibre used to installed from some ppa. iirc there was a good reason for that at a time. Maybe i had pinned version. Anyway, it was not a big deal for me.

There are only two problems I have after the upgrade:

            Dropbox keeps filling .xsession-errors with

kde.systemtray: Wrong IconThemePath "/home/sasha/.dropbox-dist/dropbox-lnx.x86_64-12.4.22/images" : too short or does not end with 'icons'

            head ~/.xsession-errors -n1
Xsession: X session started for sasha at Fri Oct 14 21:21:02 ADT 2016

            grep -c dropbox-lnx.x86_64-12.4.22/.*icons ~/.xsession-errors
            5329

That seems a bit excessive but causes no problems.

The other issue is that icons-only task manager sometime forgets Chrome is set to "Show a launcher when not running" and removes the icon after Chrome exist. I did not have time to look more into it but that is the only problem that really bothers me.
