    KMail doesn't show IMAP email account folders

    Kubuntu 16.04.5
    KMail 5.1.3

    KMail simply refuses to show my iCloud IMAP mail folders; it only lists Local Folders.

    My Incoming and Outgoing server information are correctly setup; no error pop-ups present. I can send email fine.

    The IMAP account I've configured is my Apple iCloud email account.

    akonadiconsole (Agents) shows that the IMAP agent (iCloud) is present and 'Ready'.

    Why won't KMail present the IMAP account folders? How can I fix this?

    I almost NEVER bump one of my own posts, but really, no one has any comments on this? If you too are plagued by this, please post and let me/us know. If you aren't plagued by this; IMAP accounts display properly in KMail; I REALLY want to hear from you (and know what IMAP provider you are accessing).

      No issues here in light testing, both my gmails and my hosted accounts.
      This is on neon, my Kubuntu PC is offline, probably until I get back in April


      Unless Metro 2033 calls my name again...........

        This post by acheron in the KDE neon forum led me to a solution (for me at least).

        I configured KMail for my newly created Comcast email account. It got setup without any errors. My Comcast IMAP email folder is there along with Local Folders. I received Comcast's Welcome email, and could receive emails sent from my iMac (iCloud email account). But, I could not send email; they would just sit in the Local Folders outbox, and eventually an error would be displayed. Long story short: changing the encryption from SSL to TLS in Accounts > Sending > Advanced fixed the won't send email issue. What's interesting? Comcast's instructions for configuring your email client specifies SSL for both Receiving and Sending (Incoming / Outgoing).
