Not able to launch MEGAsync file synchronizer

I downloaded the deb package for Ubuntu 16.04 and installed from there. Afterwards I was unable to launch the program from either terminal or program listing.

Ubuntu? Maybe you are on the wrong forum? In any case it should work in Kubuntu too (maybe?).

    This might help http://linuxpitstop.com/install-mega...u-16-04-linux/

If you could give some error messages you are getting it would be helpful too. I see on the page above that it has some ties to "gnome-menus" which might be problematic here in Kubuntu.

I've never used it so I don't know anything else about it.

There was no option to install Kubuntu, so I installed Ubuntu version, since it is the same kernel, or am I wrong?

This page looks more relevant to Kubuntu: http://www.ubuntubuzz.com/2015/05/in...ntu-15.04.html

Also, it may be better to install the downloaded .deb file using Qapt here in Kubuntu. Qapt handles dependencies better than dpkg does. You may have to install Qapt first.

I would uninstall the previous install then try re-installing it with Qapt. Qapt is a gui app so you can activate it from Dolphin using right click menu.

That worked, thanks... It seems like there were some dependencies, 5 packages needed to be installed...
