    Changing Mouse Cursors

I haven't posted a dumb question for quite a while, and I don't want to get completely out of practice, so: I want to locate and install a red mouse cursor theme. I know there's a way to do it; in fact, I did it once a long time ago, but I don't seem able to recreate it. Someone please take pity on an old man and post a how-to. Many thanks.
(It does feel good to get back in practice.)

It would be a gross exaggeration to say that I figured out the answer, but I did manage to stumble upon it. Synaptic can download the redglass cursor set, and the command "sudo update-alternatives --config x-cursor-theme" (without the quotation marks) then allows the user to select the desired theme by number.

I find the simplest way to change the mouse cursor theme is in System Settings, Workspace Theme, Cursor Theme. Choose from the five installed by default or click on the "Get new Theme" button down near the bottom. That brings up dozens of cursor themes. My favourite for many years has been the Chameleon theme which has a selection of colours and sizes. The Chameleon theme is also installable from Synaptic/Muon too.

I think I have used the method you discovered some time ago in a Xubuntu (Xfce) install I had on an old laptop. The cursor theme kept changing magically when in Chrome and outside Chrome (weird behaviour) and I think I did use that command to fix the theme system wide.
