    Plasma Crashing on login

    When I try to login to my system, Plasma crashes, and I am left with a screen displaying the wallpaper, and a bug window saying Plasma closed unexpectedly. No task bar, no icons, nothing. I recently installed FreeCAD from their ppa. I did a routine update, after the updater advised that there were updates available. Crash happened after i did a restart, and now crashes every time I try to log in.

    I can get to the character terminal, so can use command line tools.

    Help!! Please!!

    Update
    - removed (apt-get purge) freecad - no change
    - reinstalled (apt-get install --reinstall plasma-desktop) no change.

    Any suggestions? What else should I re-install?

      Try running: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
